Worksite near the Grande Bibliothèque: What you need to know

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is carrying out major repair works outside the Berri-UQAM metro station, which can still be accessed. All the Grande Bibliothèque’s entrances remain open.

Obstructions and modified access to parking

There will be an active worksite until December 2023 in front of the Grande Bibliothèque’s main entrance and on a stretch of De Maisonneuve Boulevard, which is closed to traffic between Berri Street and Sanguinet Street. A walkway has been added for the safety of pedestrians. The De Maisonneuve cycling path has been relocated to Ontario Street.

Drivers and cyclists have two options to access the Grande Bibliothèque’s parking garage: they can either pull into the entrance on Berri Street or use the Savoie Avenue entrance, from Ontario Street. Savoie Avenue is currently a two-way street between Ontario Street and the parking garage because it now dead-ends at the De Maisonneuve intersection.

For more information on this worksite, please go to the STM’s website.

Thank you for your understanding.
